Fiber

Could someone explain to me about the benifits of fiber+weightloss? I'm kind of confused!

The scale says I'm back to my starting weight this morning, (i know it wasn't weigh in day but i had to check since i thought there would be a loss) I was REALLY REALLY upset. I don't know what's going on with my body. I've been exercising (havn't gotten any cardio in though, could that be it?) and my eating hasn't been so bad either. What the hell is going on? I *hope* it's just water weight or something.

I'm feeling so discouraged right now :(

Don't be too discouraged, there are a few things that could be going on.
1) You started exercising so you could be gaining muscle. Even if you aren't gaining that much muscle, when you work out you tear the muscle and then it retains fluids for a while, which can lead to a slight weight gain.
2) Many people find that they gain a little weight before they are permanantly at their lower weight. Why, I don't know.
3) You may have weighed at a different time of the day.
4) Did you eat something salty? Sodium causes you to retain water.
5) Is TOM coming up? Most women have water retention the week prior and sometimes that week.

Don't worry, it'll go down, especially if you've been eating well and exercising. Just keep it up. Maybe you should take measurements of your body so that you can see how that changes (www.mybodycomp.com) since it's a better indicator than weight.

Also, as for fiber... you need enough fiber to help push things through your system. If you don't get enough fiber, a backup could be explaining some of your weight gain. As long as you eat some fruits/vegetables every day you should be alright.
